Bumblebee Policies

Bumblebee Preschool & Montessori is dedicated to maintaining a transparent and supportive environment for all our students, faculty, and staff. Our policies provide a summarized overview of our key principles, essential for the smooth functioning of our academic community. Each policy undergoes an annual review to ensure alignment with current standards and practices.

We emphasize independence, hands-on learning, and exploration, supported by structured learning objectives and outcomes. Our classrooms are organized into key areas such as Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies, promoting holistic development. Teachers serve as guides, providing individualized instruction and fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Language Policy

Bumblebee Preschool & Montessori's language policy is designed to foster English language proficiency while embracing cultural diversity. Our goal is to empower students to achieve academic excellence and develop a passion for lifelong learning. While English serves as the primary language of instruction, our teachers are also fluent in Azeri and Russian, facilitating communication with non-English-speaking students.

Continuous professional development ensures that our teachers effectively support language learning through integrated instruction.

Safety and Health Policy:

The safety and health policy at Bumblebee Preschool & Montessori is paramount in ensuring the well-being of all participants. Regular fire drills and emergency procedures are firmly established to handle potential incidents effectively. Comprehensive measures are implemented for managing illnesses and infectious diseases, with explicit guidelines for addressing unwell children and communicating with parents. Surveillance through CCTV and a stringent visitor protocol contribute significantly to upholding a secure environment. Additionally, meticulous supervision of children, adherence to specific school hours, and strict collection procedures further bolster safety measures.

Medical Policy:

Our medical policy is meticulously crafted to foster a healthy and nurturing environment for all children under our care. Staff members are proficient in first aid, complemented by the presence of a dedicated school nurse who conducts daily temperature checks to promptly identify any signs of illness. In the unfortunate event of an incident or medical emergency, our well-prepared staff follows a structured protocol to provide immediate assistance and promptly notify parents. Parents are required to disclose any allergies or dietary restrictions upon enrollment, enabling us to create a safe environment for all children. This protocol prioritizes swift and effective responses to ensure the ongoing well-being of our students.

Observations and Assessment Policy

Our approach, incorporating the Cambridge Early Years Program, is based on continuous formative assessment, including observations of children in the learning environment and evidence gathered during learning. The Cambridge Early Years Assessment Form covers key milestones in physical, cognitive, language and communication, and social and emotional development.

Observation is a continual and integral part of our preschool education. The goal of observation is to learn about each child from a scientific and objective perspective. Our preschool teachers make regular observations of each child's progress and individual development.

During observations, notes are recorded for individual children and, at times, for the group as a whole. All teachers' notes and observations taken during the term will be used as a basis for writing the end-of-term reports.
